Westerose, AB<\/strong> – 4-H Alberta is thrilled to announce that four extraordinary individuals from our community have been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal<\/b>, a prestigious national honour commemorating the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III as King of Canada<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This medal, administered by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall, is awarded to Canadians who have made significant contributions to their communities and country. 4-H Alberta was honoured to be allocated four medals and is proud to present them to four distinguished and deserving volunteers who have left a lasting impact on the 4-H community.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tim Church<\/b><\/h4>\n

Tim Church’s influence on the 4-H Alberta program can be summed up in one word: passion. A lifelong member and supporter of 4-H, Tim has been a mentor and leader whose selfless dedication has shaped countless young people. His efforts have been critical in maintaining and growing 4-H Alberta\u2019s partnership with UFA, ensuring that youth across Alberta continue to benefit from quality programming. Tim’s enthusiasm and commitment to developing tomorrow\u2019s leaders make him an indispensable part of the 4-H family.<\/span><\/p>\n

Andy Pittman<\/b><\/h4>\n

Andy Pittman has played a pivotal role in shaping the modern structure of 4-H Alberta. As a leader, Andy was instrumental in transitioning 4-H Alberta from three separate governing bodies into one unified non-profit organization. This transformation has allowed 4-H Alberta to better serve its members and communities. Beyond governance, Andy has volunteered countless hours judging projects, speeches, and presentations, launching the provincial Sheep Advisory Committee (SHAC), and working at all levels from clubs to the provincial board. His vision and commitment have left a lasting legacy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sylvia Axley<\/b><\/h4>\n

A lifelong 4-H\u2019er, Sylvia Axley is the current President of the East Central 4-H Region, where she is known for her infectious enthusiasm and commitment to making 4-H fun and meaningful. Sylvia excels at organizing camps, workshops, and meetings with expertise and grace. Her leadership ensures that members in the East Central Region enjoy enriching experiences, and she is a strong advocate for their needs and aspirations. Sylvia is not just a volunteer \u2014 she is a role model for 4-H youth and leaders alike.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shirley Jago Elliott<\/b><\/h4>\n

For years, Shirley Jago Elliott has been a pillar of the Cactus County 4-H District. As a leader, key leader, and district council executive, Shirley has always put members first \u2014 whether supporting their projects, championing mental health, or simply making sure everyone has fun. From coordinating programs with her signature personal touch to cooking at camps and managing crowds at the Medicine Hat Stampede, Shirley\u2019s positive energy and tireless volunteerism have created lasting memories for 4-H families. Her contributions continue to inspire members and volunteers across Alberta.<\/span><\/p>\n
