Stettler, AB \u2013 The 14th Annual Provincial 4-H Alberta Sheep Show brought together 54 dedicated members from across the province for a vibrant and successful showcase of 4-H sheep projects. Held in Stettler from June 27\u201330 alongside the Beef Heifer Show, this year\u2019s event celebrated the passion, preparation, and livestock knowledge of Alberta\u2019s youth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants proudly exhibited a range of animals, including ewe lambs, yearling ewes, and mature ewes with lambs at foot. The ring was alive with energy and learning, as 12 flocks were presented during the show, and members from both the sheep and beef barns supported each other in true 4-H spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis show was more than a competition; it was a collaboration. The camaraderie among participants and the commitment to quality were evident at every step,\u201d said organizers. \u201cWe are grateful to everyone who pitched in, especially members from the beef barn who came to lend a hand.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In a striking demonstration of innovation in science and technology, Mac Dykeman, a 4-H Canada Science Fair finalist from Langley, BC, took home two awards at the renowned 2023 Canada-Wide Science Fair. The fair took place at the Edmonton Convention Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Dykeman’s project, titled ‘An Innovative Approach to Ammonia in Poultry Operations’, proposed the use of Prussian Blue or Prussian Blue + Biochar as bedding additives in poultry operations for ammonia adsorption.
