We require students to be able to work independently and within a team from time to time with limited supervision. Successful candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and will have the opportunity to learn how to supervise volunteers and delegates and evaluate the program(s).\u00a0 4-H or camp experience is an asset.<\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get paid to work with amazing Youth<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get paid to make a difference<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get paid to plan and run extreme activities<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get paid to advance your leadership skills and receive feedback for future success<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get paid to HAVE FUN!<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 4-H Alberta Summer Program Coordinator team will plan, coordinate and deliver 4-H Alberta summer programs for 4-H and community youth!<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Summer Program Coordinators will implement summer programs at the Alberta 4-H Centre and various locations across Alberta for 4-H Members and the community.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>Six <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Summer Program Coordinator positions will begin May 2nd, 2022 and end August 26th, 2022<\/span>\r\n\r\n<b>Two<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Summer Program Coordinator positions will begin June 27th and end August 26th, 2022<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Summer Program Coordinators will plan and prepare in May and June for summer programs beginning at the end of June and running until the end of August. This summer, all 4-H programming will follow Alberta Health Services requirements. Summer programs will include overnight camps, day programs, and possible virtual opportunities. Programs will be 1-6 days in length.<\/span>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<b><i>Responsibilities of 4-H Alberta Summer Program Coordinators<\/i><\/b>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Develop, prepare, implement and evaluate summer programs<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oversee the daily operation of the program<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mentor and Supervise volunteer Youth Leaders<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work with fellow 4-H Alberta staff to successfully implement 4-H Alberta summer programs<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conduct first aid and monitor the wellbeing of delegates at the programs<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collaborate with team members and to manage any conflict and disciplinary issues (take the lead)<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monitor safety and all procedures during the implementation of the program<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure each program is being followed (implementing the agreed upon activities)<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prepare an evaluation and summary of each program including an overview of camp, Youth Leader evaluations, accident reports, health logs, delegate feedback, etc.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During July and August each Program Coordinator will have the opportunity to be a program lead<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Required consecutive overnight stays and travel<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Program delegates may include Youth of all ages and adults<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist with programming needs at the Alberta 4-H Centre through May and June<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other duties and responsibilities as assigned<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<b><i>Position Requirements<\/i><\/b>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Completed at least one year post-secondary education<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Class 5 Alberta Drivers\u2019 License and obtain a Driver\u2019s Abstract<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start date<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide a Criminal Record with a Vulnerable Sector Check<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proof of Covid-19 vaccination status and\/or negative test results may be required as per the Alberta Government.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Positions require\u00a0 high energy, excellent leadership skills and the ability to have fun!\u00a0 In addition, successful candidates must be dependable, mature and able to work independently and as a team member.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preference for (not required):\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Lifeguard certification is an asset\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience working with Youth<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<b><i>Specifications\u00a0<\/i><\/b>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wages will be based on a daily rate, during planning and while at programs, based on experience and qualifications.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accommodation and food provided when at a program<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Position Headquarters and office space at the Alberta 4-H Centre, Westerose, AB<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Living accommodation can be provided at the Alberta 4-H Centre<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Training is included and required<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start Date: May 2, 2022 (four-month position) <\/span><b>or <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">June 27, 2022 (two-month position)<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">End Date: August 27, 2021<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note all successful applicants will be required to follow all Alberta Health Services requirements that are in place for the safety of themselves, participants and fellow staff.
